In this course, you will learn how to deploy a buoy from depth with ease and precision, ensuring the boat can track your position and securing your safe ascent to the surface.

What You Will Learn

  • Buoy and Reel Types: Understanding different DSMB designs and reels/spools to choose the right gear for your needs.
  • Deployment Techniques: How to prepare and launch a buoy from depth while maintaining neutral buoyancy during a safety stop.
  • Line Management: Mastering the use of reels and preventing entanglements during ascent.
  • Surface Communication: Using the buoy as a signaling device for boats or to communicate in emergency situations.

Prerequisites:

  • Certification: PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent).
  • Age: 12 years or older.
